Am/Can Ch. Kaliphi U Know Mielleux Deux

CD HT NA NAJ OA U-CD U-AGI NAC OAC NGC NJC OJC PD1 HCTs HIC TT TDI CGC VT ROMX ROMPX HOF    “Sarek”

1988-2001

Sire: Ch. Beardsanbrow’s V D’Occasion CD ROM ROMP HOF  “Waver”

Dam: Ch. U Know Mielleux de Bonheur CD ROM ROMP HOF  “Honey”

Even though Sarek was actually my third or fourth Briard, he was really the start of it all. He came to me at 4 years of age to be shown, had a very successful show career (especially for a relatively poor, working owner), went on to a successful career as a sire, and NEVER went home. Showing, training and having Sarek as a constant companion cemented my love for the breed and convinced me to try to have more of him. Although no dog is ever perfect, Sarek was the perfect dog for me – it’s not often you can have a best friend, a big winning show dog, a good producer AND a dog that loves to work and will do anything for you – all in one dog.

He will be FOREVER missed and forever loved. Thanks to Sarek’s original owners – Debra and Jane- for sharing Sarek with me – we were a GREAT team.

The highlight of Sarek’s show career was winning Best of Breed at the 1995 National Specialty- OWNER HANDLED. What a thrill! Sarek also won the Stud Dog class that year, a couple of sons got AOMs, a son was Best of Winners and daughter Juste was BOS in Sweepstakes. He was the #2 Briard that year, losing by only 4 points. He was also in the Top 10 Briards six other years, won 11 or 12 specialty Awards of Merit, 3 AOMs at Westminster KC, won many Best Veteran or BOS Veterans, and had almost 100 group placements (and numerous firsts) and almost 500 BOB wins.

Sarek was OFA Good (and re-xrayed at 5 and 9 years of age with no changes), CERF normal several times, and thyroid normal twice. I have frozen semen available by private treaty only.

Sarek sired 42 AKC champions in JUST 13 litters, with two others still to finish (both have both majors) and was the Top Sire in History until recently, when a son took over the “title”. Some of Sarek’s  significant get include:

Ch. Celebra’s Redhot Chilipepper

Ch. Kaliphi Henri Hubert

Ch. Déjà Vu In Like Flynn

Ch. Déjà Vu Instant Success

Ch. Le Lascar Galant de l’Heureux

Ch. Celebra’s Redhot Chilipepper HSCs – Owned by Christi Leigh, Julie Reconnu, and Michael Gibson, Chili’s recent herding title (HSC) has given Sarek the number of performance titled get needed for his ROMPX, only the second Briard male to receive this title. Chili is also nearing her ROM (Top Producer) status with several champion produce, sired by Ch. One Man Show Lucca de Guerande, including three Group winning offspring; sired by Ch. Beardsdanbrow’s V D’Occasion CD, Sarek’s father, and sired by V’Charlemagne de Bejaune.

Ch. Kaliphi Henri Hubert CD OA OAJ CGC TT U-AgI VT HOF – My very favorite Sarek son, owned by Sue Harvison of Fort Worth, TX. Bear won an Award of Merit at the 1997 National Specialty and was a multiple Group Winner, as well as being king of the castle.

Ch. Déjà Vu In Like Flynn CD PT VT ROMX ROMPX HOF (Flynn) is the current top winning Briard in the history with over 15 BISs and the Top Producing sire in history. He has won BOB at three National Specialties.

Ch. Déjà Vu Instant Success ROM HOF (Stan), owned by Lee Davidson of Kings Island, OH, is a multiple Group winner, as well as winning several specialty Awards of Merit.

Ch. Le Lascar Galant de l’Heureux CD HOF (Liam), owned by Theresa Lee and the Fergusons,  is a multiple Best in Show winner and won Best of Breed at the 2000 National Specialty.

Ch. Classique Goodfellow HCTs,d JHD,d,s HTDI,s TT CGC HIC   Fellow was High in Trial (all-breed trial) at the 1993 National Specialty and also earned an AHBA High in Trial. Fellow had qualifying scores toward several other herding titles too, including AKC HT, PT, HS, HI (there was only one weekend of herding trials within 400 miles each year), ASCA STDs and AHBA HTDII and HRDI. Fellow, now 14 years old, now lives in Mexico on a working cattle farm, doing what he most loves – being spoiled and herding.

There are many other winning conformation and performance Sarek offspring, and HUNDREDS of winning grandkids and great grandkids.

HT PT U-AgI TT CGC HIC JHDs ROM HOF

 “Juste”

1994-2004

Juste was my foundation bitch and Sarek’s daughter and best dog friend. Although not trialed much, she was the best performance dog I ever owned. I really didn’t deserve to own such a talented dog – with great intelligence, work ethic and pure fire in one small package. She might have accomplished so much if she had had an equally talented trainer/handler, committed to taking advantage of her attitude and skills. Juste was also ALOT of fun to show, although only shown as a young puppy. She had won four majors by the time she was 7 1/2 months old, including two over huge entries at a large supported weekend in Kalamazoo. She was handled by a different person each of the four wins, including a couple of novices. At 9 1/2 months with 14 points, she was BOS in Puppy Sweepstakes at the 1995 National Specialty and helped her father win the Stud Dog class, too. She finished her championship the next weekend and unfortunately was never shown again.

Juste was a wonderful brood bitch. She was easy to breed, whelped large litters in just two hours or less and took meticulous care of her puppies. And most importantly, she passed along her Excellent hips (still Excellent at 5 yrs and the lowest PennHip score - .18- you can get) and other good health. She produced 7 champions, including Marquis, who was Best of Winners at the 2000 National Specialty; Odin, a Group Placer;  Puccini, who has earned several obedience and agility titles and who is also training in Freestyle and Tracking; Risky (see  below), and Mayhem, who has several Schutzhund and other titles in Canada and is a well-known movie star.

Juste’s memorial ad in the 2005 National Specialty catalog said:

Hope that doggy heaven has all of Juste’s favorite things – herds of sheep, lots of puppies, papa/best friend Sarek, a big soft people bed and limitless cookies. Miss you, my sweet muppet!!

Ch. Mielleux’s Madison Ave Classique “Miss Madison”    tawny bitch

Bred by and co-owned with Diane Royce (Mielleux).

1996-2006.

The sweetest, kindest Briard of them all. Madison had two litters of puppies, passing on her wonderful temperament to them all. She was bred to frozen semen to Sarek with Ch. Classique Sarekson (Puppet), Ch. Fox Lair Classique Sporte (Missy), and Ch. Foxlair Classique Sienna finishing their championships. Foxlair Classique Dior S.O.S. (Scooby) and Dansr Foxlair Sierra (Sierra) have both majors. Madison’s second litter was to Ch Aladax’s Shape of My Heart (True), producing Ch Aladax User Friendly Classique (Kadin), Classique Aladax USS Trueman (Truman) – four majors, Classique Under My Spell (Sabrina), and Aladax Classique Utmost Charm (Charmed).  She should earn her ROM in 2007.

Classique Risque Business   “Risky” tawny bitch  10/09/00 – 12/06

Sire: BIS/BISS Ch. Le Lascar Galant de l’Heureux CD HOF  “Liam”

Dam: Ch. Classique Just Rewards Mielleux HT PT U-AGI TT CGC HIC HCTs JHDs

                        ROM HOF  “Juste”

Until the recent loss of my Risky Girl, she was the “grande dame” at Classique, after the  loss of her mom Juste. She was given the best bed, the best toys and allowed first in and out of doors. She got all of this respect without ever growling or lifting a lip. She could discipline the beastliest puppy with just a look, but loved all puppies, even those that weren’t her own. Of course, she WAS the biggest dog in the house and all the others seemed to know it.

Although not finished, Risky was a large, very elegant bitch that looks much like her handsome father Liam. She had a huge head with gorgeous black eyes, big ears, big nose and great length of muzzle and skull. She was very angulated on both ends, with extreme reach and drive and shepherd-like movement. Even after puppies, her topline was still strong and level. And I wish all of my dogs could have her beautiful tail – long, good crochet and carried perfectly. Most importantly, Risky had wonderful temperament – sweet and obedient; and patient and loving with all animals and people!!

Risky had three litters: Bred to the very handsome Ch. Dante Bohemia Elite (Czech import), Risky produced eleven beautiful puppies with BIG beautiful heads, gorgeous coats and color, long tails, good bone and substance and great angulation. Watch for Margot (at Classique), Annie (MI), Chloe (WI), Valentino (IN), Zachary (CA) and Chaucer (NC) in the show ring. Chloe recently finished her championship with six majors. Three others are already pointed and Chaucer is just a couple of points from finishing his championship. Risky also had two puppies- Jolie and Angel- in 2005 bred to Harrison.
